ORGANISATION BACKGROUND
(a) THE CHURCH
This church was opened up in 1989 with the purpose of opening up people’s eyes and turn them from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God (Acts 26:18) by now we have 200 christians 80 adults and 120 children pastured by Pr. Kaleebi David plus improving the quality of life of people through Christian values and 3 other church opened up.
This church is affiliated to Highway of Holiness *(Miracle Centre) NGO’s Board in Uganda.

The church designed to meet a whole man spiritually, socially and physically.
Spiritually (The role of Kiwanyi church in the community)
1. Evangelisation
2. Discipleship training and preparation of church ministers to enlarge the Kingdom of God or church empowerment
3. Community development for kingdom building through:
(i) Education and training
(ii) Setting up projects
(iii) Ministry formation to address the employment problem.
EVANGELISATION PROGRAMME
This includes; (i) Crusades and open air meetings (ii) House to house outreach (ii) Hospitals outreach (iv) opening up churches (v) Prison outreach (vi) Markets outreach (vii) Offering home based care to people living with HIV/AIDS. (viii) Retreats.
DISCIPLESHIP TRAINING AND PREPARATION OF CHURCH MINISTERS
This involves; (i) Sunday school, (ii) House cell/care group meetings (iii) prayer meetings (iv) seminars, conferences and crusades.

Most of the ministers of this organization passed through the following bile schools,

SOCIAL SERVICES
The level of social services in the catchment area is still very low especially in Education sector/fresh water supply. P.H.C (Primary Health Care).
PHYSICAL
Physiological needs and the infrastructure. The people(population) of our catchment area generally meet their physical needs through a hard struggle this is because of the employment structure which has not yet gained the capacity to satisfy the physical needs of the population as a consequence, food supply, clothing and shelter are still very low.
The infrastructure includes;

3. Digging & Rearing
SOCIAL
Social environment, economy, politics and trade) the social environment of working area is characterized by the following;
Employment/occupation
The largest percentage of the employed population are involved in digging, rearing, marketing services and selling alcoholic drinks which leads to prostitution and idle speculation, this has been a bad impact upon both the spiritual and social affairs of the area. There are a few workers employed in Health centres, schools and a few are self-employed in small scale industries and others are casual workers seek offering services for daily bread. Though the above outline shows that there are some people who may be satisfactory employed but the employment structure is not yet bread enough to cater for the entire population.
Community Development Programme
As the outlined above in the ministry/project formulation. All ministry project formulations by the church are intended to promote the church ministries and program plans in the process and task of community development and kingdom building for the Lord God.
On top of this the church has the responsibility of overseeing the growth of the churches opened up by the Pastor and church leaders (co-workers)

SOCIAL CARE SUPPORT TO OVCS MINISTRY IN CHURCH
In 1996 Kiwanyi Miracle Centre Church came together and formed a ministry of HIV/AIDS Care and Supporting OVCs and Widows due to this problem statement.
Iganga district is of the districts in Uganda that has been badly hit with HIV/AIDS disease and its stagnant prevalence at 7% today, has remained a threat to the community especially the children whose parents have been victimized. This has negatively impacted on the social and economic status of the families affected where orphans, vulnerable children and care givers are left at crossroads. According to information gathered by our organization and that from the office of the Direct of the District Health Services shows that the number of orphans and vulnerable children has increased.
Given the above scenario, and where people are being constrained with cycles of poverty it has been realized that they cannot afford to carry the burden of orphans and vulnerable children alone. And yet the government has no enough support for the growing number of OVCs in the country. This has been a chance for the church to reach other places difficult to reach, now by HIV sensitization skills we can reach there.
OVCs ministry in church
In the same year (1996) 15 church Christians were trained and awarded certificates in different HIV/AIDS care, sensitization and counseling courses.
Kiwanyi M.C.C HIV/AIDS care and support OVC ministry is registered with the government of Uganda with un-intervention mainly on orphans, vulnerable children (OVC), girl child, PLWHA and care givers infected and affected by HIV/AIDS to promote better livelihood and mobilizing churches, community members, other orgnisation to participate in reducing the vulnerability of children, elimination of stigma and support PLWHA, so that they can access education, communication awareness building, counseling, home based care, child basic right and protection through skills, trainings and support for income generating activities (IGA). So far we have other 30 community faith based organization (CBOs) and 6 big NGOs partnering with them to meet critical needs of orphans and vulnerable children. These are;
1. TAIP which has trained and supported our community OVCs
2. Livelihoods Development initiatives Uganda (LIDI) Uganda
3. 
Through this Oragnisation, we have visitors from out side countries and we have opened Namungalwe Shine Outreach Ministry Church at Namungalwe Sub County in Iganga District by the help of Pastor Macho Geoffrey who is the Director of Shine Outreach Ministries.

4. Kiringa Child Development Centre is in Nawandala Sub county under Centre for Evangelism Ministry being led by Pastor Moses Samanya as overseer. Kiringa Child Development Centre (KCDC) is being funded by Compassion International to contact some of our OVCs to sponsors and to build them to be with good discipline. This is a step ahead for our Organisation.
5. King of Kings Junior Day and Boarding Primary School in Iganga Town trhough the Director Pastor Balaba David, school staff and management are supporting 21 children (OVCs) from our Organisation. These children are in boarding being catered for by this school. This has promoted our Organization.
6. Trinity Church Kalwere Kampala is a church being led by Bishop Sebuliba Sam and coordinator Mrs. Ssempala which has helped our Organization or Church to organization spiritual seminars plus providing people with clothes and other physical things in doing this our Ministry has not remained the same.
Through sensitization, counseling and care we have got PLWHA declared publically their HIV status, whom we call community Animators by now 3 groups do concerts, crusades and seminars or meetings about HIV/AIDS campaign “having a motto or a saying which says that Kiwanyi Kick HIV for rural development group”. In doing this we can get couple HIV counseling & testing (CHCT), for and VCT in order to know discondent and condent couples and for sustainability purpose Kiwanyi Advanced Christian Saving and Credit Co-operative was formed (SACCO).
Kiwanyi M.C.C HIV/AIDS care and support organization aim at passing on the baton to others and working as community extension trainers (CET) also like ICE breakers because together every one can achieve more.

Objectives of the organization
1. To establish born again churches, schools medical centres, HIV/AIDS training centres and a children’s recreation centre as well as a Bible College.
2. To improve on quality of life of people through Christian values and ethics (conference, crusades etc)
3. To uplift the standard of living and behaviours change of orphans/vulnerable children and care givers through, economically, socially and HIV/AIDS awareness with out discrimination/stigmatize.
4. To build community capacity to handle HIV/AIDS, care and to ensure food security plus IGA to OVC’s care givers.
5. To establish life skill programmes to transform the youths from feeling at wishes to creativity and to equip them to influence themselves with in this world positively.
6. To increase knowledge and skills for communities in caring and management of OVCs and PLWHA in order to restore their hop.
7. To improve the welfare of OVCs and PLWHA through provision of integrated approach to handle the causes and effects found in spiritual, emotional, mental and physical to reduce child abuse.
8. To strengthen the capacity of the organization empowering OVC ministry beneficiaries to express their needs and increase their voice to fit in the community.
